“More than 40 years after Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball  made their names with wonderful Jazz hits, the pair don’t seem a day older and their music is as fresh as ever.  The pair have a different approach to their discipline, one mellow and laid back, the other more ebullient and foot stomping. It was a good night with Acker revisiting Stranger on the Shore and Kenny and his ensemble giving us Midnight in Moscow, their truly marvellous trombone/trumpet version of what was, we were told originally a Russian folk song. The evening was a sell-out, not surprisingly for two Bands with long Prominent histories, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
